The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) announced an increase in the number of companies joining the “Committed Trader Program” during the first half of this year, reaching 151 companies compared to 143 during the same period in 2025—marking a growth of 8 companies, or approximately 5.6 percent.
As part of efforts to empower domestic products and expand their market share, JSMO clarified that the number of Jordanian Quality Mark certificates granted in the first half of this year reached 158. It noted that obtaining the Jordanian Quality Mark serves as conclusive proof of a product’s excellence and compliance with the highest standards, affording it an exceptional competitive edge in both local and global markets.
JSMO stated that the enrollment of this number of companies into the Committed Trader Program reflects the success of its approach to facilitating operations for traders and streamlining regulatory procedures for importers who bring in goods that comply with technical regulations and standard specifications, provided they meet the requirements across the program’s four categories.
The Organization explained that the program seeks to solidify the partnership between the public and private sectors while offering tangible trade facilitation. This encourages greater voluntary compliance with laws and regulations, accelerates the flow of imports through border points, and reduces the time needed to release goods at customs centers. Consequently, this helps lower financial costs stemming from storage and customs delays, while reducing expenses related to repeated testing—particularly for goods imported regularly from the same source.
It added that joining the program enhances the trader’s profile with JSMO and regulatory authorities, positioning them as a trusted partner in the supply chain and quality control process.
Furthermore, JSMO highlighted that its efforts to support the export capabilities of productive sectors resulted in issuing 108 “Halal” certificates. This directly contributes to facilitating the access of Jordanian products into promising Islamic and international markets that mandate this certification according to the highest technical compliance standards.
The Organization called upon all industrial, commercial, and service sectors to take advantage of the specialized services and programs it offers, affirming that it places all its technical capabilities and human expertise at the service of the national economy to elevate the quality of products and services across the Kingdom.
