The daily average trading volume on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) during the period between July 26 and July 30 reached approximately 17.2 million JOD, compared to 14.7 million JOD the previous week—marking a 17.1 percent increase. Total trading volume for the week stood at around 86.0 million JOD, compared to 73.4 million JOD in the preceding week.
The number of traded shares recorded by the exchange during the week reached 49.6 million, executed through 25,318 transactions.
In terms of sectoral contribution to total trading volume, the financial sector ranked first, generating 50.12 million JOD (58.30 percent of total volume). The services sector followed in second place with 22.43 million JOD (26.09 percent), while the industrial sector came third with 13.42 million JOD (15.61 percent).
Regarding price indices, the general stock price index for the week’s closing rose to 3,996.1 points, compared to 3,932.4 points for the previous week—an increase of 1.62 percent. Sector-wise, the financial sector index increased by 2.55 percent, the services sector index rose by 0.83 percent, while the industrial sector index declined by 0.8 percent.
A comparison of closing prices for the 131 traded companies against their previous closes showed that 66 companies recorded gains in their share prices, whereas 42 companies registered declines.
The top five gainers in share price for the week were Jordan Express Tourist Transport (JETT), with its share price surging by 19.63 percent; Jordan Development & Financial Investment, up 18.75 percent; Al-Sana’bel International for Islamic Investments (Holding), up 17.95 percent; Al-Inma’a for Export & International Trading, up 16.67 percent; and First Insurance, up 16.00 percent.
On the other hand, the top five decliners were National Insurance, with its share price dropping 11.69 percent; Saba’ek Investment, down 7.79 percent; Professional Real Estate Investment & Housing, down 5.68 percent; National Portfolio Securities, down 5.41 percent; and Arab European Insurance Group, down 4.72 percent.
