Russia’s Inflation Rate Rises to Around 6.3%

Updated:

Russia’s annual inflation rate rose to around 6.3%, the country’s Ministry of Economic Development said on Sunday, as weekly inflation accelerated slightly to 0.06%, driven by higher transportation costs and rising prices for logistics-related services.

The ministry said the acceleration in weekly inflation reflected continued pressure on transportation costs and supply chains, which pushed up prices for some goods and services.

Annual inflation continues to remain above the target set by Russia’s monetary policy, the ministry added.
