Industrial Exports Account for Nearly 95% of Total National Exports in 5 Months

The value of industrial exports reached JOD 3.668 billion, recording a growth rate of 8.2%, according to the industrial exports report for the first five months of the current year issued by the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI).

The report, included an analysis of key performance indicators for industrial exports and their development compared to the same period in previous years, in addition to the most important markets, sectors, and products that contributed to export growth during the period.

According to the report, industrial exports constituted nearly 95% of total national exports, while covering approximately 45% of total imports.

Manufacturing exports also registered a growth of 7%. The chemical and cosmetics industries topped the exporting industrial sectors, followed by leather and garments, and then engineering and electrical industries.

According to the report, Switzerland, China, Kenya, and Thailand emerged among the markets recording the highest percentage growth in industrial exports during that period.
