Gold Prices Record New Local Gains

AMMAN — The local selling price of 21-karat gold rose on Thursday by 70 piasters compared to Wednesday evening’s pricing, according to the General Association of Owners of Jewelry and Gold Shops.

According to Thursday’s daily pricing sheet, 21-karat gold—the most popular among citizens in the local market—reached 91.2 JOD per gram for selling from jewelry shops, compared to 87.1 JOD for buying. This compares to 90.5 JOD for selling and 86.5 JOD for buying on Wednesday evening.

The selling price of one gram of 24-karat gold also increased by 70 piasters to reach 104.7 JOD, compared to 100.7 JOD for buying.

Similarly, the selling price of 18-karat gold rose by 60 piasters to reach 80.8 JOD per gram, compared to 74.5 JOD for buying.
