Applied Science University has been crowned the winner of the Jordanian edition of the 2026 Arab Artificial Intelligence Olympiad, securing top results across the competition’s various tracks and qualifying for the Arab-level competition in Egypt next month.
The university’s Faculty of Information Technology participated with several teams across multiple tracks in the competition, which was organized in Jordan by the Arab Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Association through its STEAM Center.
The competition featured several specialized tracks, including programming, cybersecurity, machine learning, computer vision, and embedded systems.
Teams from Applied Science University delivered the strongest overall results across the competition’s tracks, earning the university the Jordanian championship title and securing qualification for the next stage of the Arab Artificial Intelligence Olympiad, scheduled to take place in the Arab Republic of Egypt next month.
The winning team comprised Oday Abu Al-Rub, Omar Sufian, Emad Aql, Mansour Dhahir, Hussein Al-Dulaimi, Yazan Al-Damati, and Raed Abu Afifeh.
Other university teams also achieved notable results in the cybersecurity and programming tracks, with several teams qualifying for the Arab-level competition.
In the cybersecurity track, Omar Jaradat and Yousef Al-Qudah secured first place among Jordanian universities, while Asaad Al-Ali and Tamim Al-Qudah took second place. Azmi Al-Sarairah and Ayham Bishtawi secured third place.
In the programming track, Yazan Al-Dmeiry and Yaman Al-Rifai secured second place among Jordanian universities, while Bashar Abu Asaba and Ahmad Ali finished in sixth place.
Applied Science University congratulated its Information Technology students on their achievements and wished them continued success as they prepare to compete at the Arab level.
