The 2026 Shanghai Ranking Indicators Tracking Platform report, issued as part of the services of ShanghaiRanking, the global ranking organization, has placed Applied Science Private University first among all private universities in Jordan and second among all Jordanian universities, according to the performance indicators adopted by the Shanghai Global Ranking.
The report is based on the data and analytical indicators provided by the Shanghai Ranking Indicators Tracking Platform for academic institutions, which enables institutions to monitor their performance and conduct benchmarking comparisons in accordance with the methodology of the Shanghai Global Ranking.
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), commonly known as the Shanghai Ranking, is considered one of the world’s three major university rankings, alongside the QS World University Rankings and the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings. It is distinguished by its strong focus on research performance and scientific awards.
This achievement by Applied Science Private University in research performance indicators and the quality of its academic output further strengthens the university’s position both locally and internationally. In 2025, according to the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, the university made its first-ever entry and ranked first among Jordanian universities in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, placing 401–500 globally, and in Artificial Intelligence, placing 301–400 globally.
