Updated:

Amman, Jordan – September 21, 2026 – Jordan is taking a significant step in the development of its financial sector with the official launch of CoinMENA B.S.C.’s services within the Central Bank of Jordan’s Regulatory Sandbox for Financial Technology and Innovation (JoRegBox). Through the launch, users in Jordan will, for the first time, have access to digital asset deposit, buying, selling, and custody services through CoinMENA under the direct supervision of the Central Bank of Jordan.

The launch represents an important regulatory milestone in the development of Jordan’s fintech sector and comes as part of efforts to support financial innovation within a clear regulatory framework, in line with the objectives of the Economic Modernisation Vision and its goal of strengthening Jordan’s position as a modern, innovation-driven financial hub.

CoinMENA enters the Jordanian market with extensive regulatory experience gained across regulated regional markets. The company holds licenses issued by the Central Bank of Bahrain and Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). Today, CoinMENA continues its regional expansion by joining the Central Bank of Jordan’s Regulatory Sandbox for Financial Technology and Innovation, in cooperation with the relevant regulatory authorities, including the Jordan Securities Commission.

This framework provides users in Jordan with access to a platform operating under high standards of security, while benefiting from the same service standards that have supported CoinMENA’s growth across the Middle East. The platform will also offer access to local instant payment networks such as CliQ, in addition to bank transfers, enabling users in Jordan to deposit funds in Jordanian dinars seamlessly.

Founded in 2020 by Jordanian entrepreneurs Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an, CoinMENA’s launch in Jordan marks a notable return to its home country. The platform’s co-founders are working directly with the Central Bank of Jordan to contribute to the development of a secure and innovative digital asset ecosystem serving users across the Kingdom.

Commenting on the launch, CoinMENA co-founders Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an said in a joint statement: “CoinMENA’s joining the Central Bank of Jordan’s Regulatory Sandbox for Financial Technology and Innovation (JoRegBox) as the first regulated digital asset trading platform marks a pivotal milestone in the company’s journey and in the development of the digital asset sector in Jordan.

This achievement reflects the responsibility we have toward our users and reaffirms our full commitment to complying with the highest local regulatory standards and frameworks. We look forward to continuing to work closely with the Central Bank of Jordan to build a transparent and secure digital financial ecosystem that enables users to participate confidently in the future of finance.”

Through its participation in the Central Bank of Jordan’s Regulatory Sandbox for Financial Technology and Innovation (JoRegBox), CoinMENA is contributing to Jordan’s efforts to strengthen its position as a leading hub in the global digital finance landscape, building on its strong track record of regulatory compliance and excellence across the region.
