Royal Jordanian: Passenger safety is a priority and no changes to flights

Royal Jordanian confirmed that no adjustments have been made to its flight schedules so far following the activation of air raid sirens in the Kingdom due to a breach of airspace by missiles fired from Iran. The airline emphasized that it is monitoring developments in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Royal Jordanian CEO Samer Majali said on Thursday that there are no modifications to flight schedules, stressing that the company places passenger safety at the forefront of its priorities.

Majali added that Royal Jordanian is coordinating continuously with relevant entities—including the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army, the Air Force, the government, and the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission—to follow up on updates and take necessary measures.

He assured that passengers will be notified if any changes to flights occur, urging them not to worry and noting that “the situation is reassuring.”

Earlier, the Minister of Government Communication and official government spokesperson, Mohammad Al-Momani, announced that air raid sirens were activated by the Public Security Directorate following a breach of the Kingdom’s airspace by missiles fired from Iran.

Al-Momani confirmed that the valiant Jordanian Armed Forces handled and countered the incident, and remain on high alert to deal with any threat facing the Kingdom. He also called on citizens and residents to adhere to instructions and information issued by the competent authorities and avoid spreading misinformation.

An official military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army stated that Jordanian air defense systems intercepted and shot down 8 missiles fired from Iran toward Jordanian territory on Thursday. The source explained that the interceptions resulted in the fall of a number of fragments, without causing any human casualties or material damage.

The source emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces are closely monitoring current regional developments and updates, operating at the highest levels of readiness to protect the Kingdom’s airspace and defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and will not allow any violation of Jordanian airspace by any party whatsoever.
