Dubai, UAE – January 26, 2025: Hotpack, the UAE-based global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, has been awarded ‘Sustainable Business of the Year 2025 – FMCG Sector’ at the ‘Sustainability 2040 Awards in the Middle East’, a platform that recognises governments, corporates, and sustainability leaders from across the region to spotlight businesses that are not only setting ambitious ESG goals but are actively delivering against them through data-backed action, governance, and innovation.

The accolade recognises Hotpack’s proactive actions to reduce its environmental footprint and align with the region’s net-zero and sustainability ambitions, reinforcing Hotpack’s position as one of the region’s most sustainability-driven organisations and reflects the company’s commitment to embedding ESG principles across every level of its operations.

Commenting on the recognition, Mr. Abdul Jebbar, Group CEO and Managing Director of Hotpack, said, “This award validates the direction we have taken as a business. It’s a proud moment at Hotpack and a strong endorsement of our long-term sustainability journey. At Hotpack, sustainability is not a parallel initiative, it is embedded into how we design, manufacture, and scale. Through supplier engagement, product innovation, transparent carbon reporting, and a defined net-zero roadmap, we are continuously improving our operations across the Middle East”.

“Our goal is to demonstrate that responsible growth, innovation, and environmental stewardship can advance together, creating lasting value for our customers, partners, and communities. The Sustainability 2040 recognition, along with the EcoVadis Gold Medal, reaffirms that our sustainability approach is credible, data-driven, and globally benchmarked”, he added further.

Dr. Mike Cheetham, Global Sustainability Director at Hotpack, added,
Sustainability is embedded in what we produce at Hotpack, with 97 percent of our portfolio now recyclable, biodegradable, compostable, or a combination of these. We see efficient recycling as a critical enabler of impact, and we continue to invest in advanced manufacturing lines that maximise the use of post-consumer recycled materials. With a portfolio of more than 4,000 packaging products, the process was demanding, but it has given us a clear, realistic roadmap toward achieving true carbon neutrality”.

The Sustainability 2040 Awards, designed in line with Dubai’s Sustainability 2040 vision, celebrates companies across the Middle East that are advancing climate action, resource efficiency, and responsible practices. The award follows a rigorous evaluation framework built around the 4P Model People, Purpose, Planet, and Partnership. This holistic approach assesses key areas including sustainable business and finance, green energy, safety and infrastructure, community engagement, and responsible sourcing, across more than 200 checkpoints on a 1,200-point scale.

Building on its consistent sustainability achievements, Hotpack recently earned the prestigious EcoVadis Gold Medal, ranking among the top five percent of companies worldwide for environmental, social, and governance performance. The recognition reflects the company’s continued excellence across key areas, including environmental impact, ethical governance, labour practices, and sustainable procurement, underscoring Hotpack’s position as a global leader in responsible and sustainable business.

These milestones reflect Hotpack’s conviction that business growth and sustainability are mutually reinforcing. Through continuous innovation, responsible sourcing, and long-term planning, the company is setting new standards for the FMCG sector in the Middle East, leading through action and delivering solutions that balance environmental protection with economic progress.
