Across the UAE and globally, prostate cancer remains one of the most common cancers affecting men. According to recent health data, 77.7% of prostate cancer cases in the region are diagnosed at a late stage, despite being over 97% treatable when detected early. Yet, many men still delay screening due to stigma, lack of awareness, or the misconception that symptoms must first appear.
Throughout November, HMS Al Garhoud hospital and HMS Mirdif Hospital are calling on men across the UAE to take charge of their wellbeing through regular check-ups and open conversations about prostate health, a topic too often left unspoken. As part of the awareness campaign, HMS Al Garhoud Hospital is offering comprehensive prostate health check-ups for AED 499, while HMS Mirdif Hospital provides the same at AED 899.
In support of the campaign, HMS Hospitals are offering comprehensive prostate screening packages that include a doctor consultation, urine analysis, PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) test, and KUB (Kidneys, Ureters, and Bladder) ultrasound. Together, these assessments provide a complete overview of prostate and urinary health, helping detect potential issues at an early and treatable stage.
Head of the Urology Team at HMS, noted: “Prostate cancer is one of the most common yet most preventable cancers among men. Regular screening, particularly after the age of 40, dramatically improves survival rates. Our aim this Movember is to encourage men to make screening a normal part of self-care, not a last resort.“
“Movember is more than a campaign, it’s a call to action. By promoting proactive screening and awareness, we’re helping men lead longer, healthier lives while supporting the UAE’s commitment to preventive care,” added Ala Atari, CEO of HMS Group.
Through this initiative, HMS Hospitals continue to lead efforts in community health and wellness, advocating for awareness, prevention, and timely detection as cornerstones of lifelong wellbeing.
