Saudi Motorsport Company (SMC) has won the Best Sports Event award at the 2026 Saudi Event Awards in recognition of its outstanding delivery of WRC Rally Saudi Arabia 2025, the final round of the FIA World Rally Championship. The award was presented during a ceremony held in Riyadh.
The award reflects the high organisational standards demonstrated by Saudi Motorsport Company, including its operational efficiency, professional execution across all aspects of event delivery, and the comprehensive experience provided to participants and spectators in line with the highest international standards.
Dakar Rally Saudi Arabia 2026 and WRC Rally Saudi Arabia 2025 were both shortlisted for the Best Sports Event award following a two-stage judging process. Entries were assessed across four key areas: event concept, planning and quality of organisation; venue, facilities and logistics; marketing, promotion and audience engagement; and the overall attendee experience, including hospitality and service quality.
WRC Rally Saudi Arabia 2025 marked a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s motorsport journey, as Saudi Arabia made its debut on the FIA World Rally Championship calendar. The event hosted the 14th and final round of the 2025 season, bringing together leading drivers and teams from across the championship. The rally featured 17 special stages covering more than 319 kilometres of competitive distance.
This recognition further reinforces Saudi Motorsport Company’s role in developing the Kingdom’s motorsport ecosystem and strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a global destination for major international championships and events, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. Operating under the supervision of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation and the Ministry of Sport, SMC is responsible for hosting, organising and promoting a number of the Kingdom’s leading international motorsport events.
Now in its second edition, the Saudi Event Awards build on the legacy of the Middle East Event Awards, which have celebrated excellence, innovation and outstanding achievement across the events industry since 2009.
