The number of overnight tourist arrivals to Jordan rose in June 2026 to 491,788 tourists, marking a 1.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025, which recorded approximately 482,880 tourists.
According to Ministry of Tourism , same-day visitors reached 108,428 during the same period this year, reflecting a 3.7% decline compared to June 2025, when the count stood at 112,575 visitors.
The total number of tourists and visitors in June 2026 rose to 600,216, a 0.8% increase compared to the corresponding period last year, which recorded 595,455 tourists and visitors.
During the second quarter of 2026, overnight tourist arrivals totaled 1,307,299, down 11.2%, while same-day visitors totaled 309,891, a 1.0% drop. Consequently, the combined total reached 1,617,190 visitors, representing a 9.4% decline compared to Q2 2025, which saw 1,471,366 overnight tourists and 313,035 same-day visitors, totaling 1,784,401.
Regarding overnight tourists by region in June 2026, Arab tourists topped the list at 275,709, a 14.0% increase compared to 241,916 in June of the previous year. Non-resident Jordanians living abroad ranked second, reaching 129,911 tourists in June 2026—a 4.8% rise compared to 123,981 in 2025.
European tourists ranked third with 54,439 overnight arrivals, down 26.7% compared to 74,291 recorded in the prior year. Asian tourists followed with 14,838 arrivals, down 18.5% compared to 18,215 in 2025.
Overnight arrivals from the Americas reached 13,510 in June 2026, dropping 34.5% compared to 20,633 during the same period last year, while African arrivals stood at 3,381 this year.
Arab travelers also led same-day visitors in June 2026, reaching 79,165—a 3.8% increase compared to 76,301 in June 2025. European visitors followed at 20,559, down 25.3% from 27,525 in June 2025.
Non-resident Jordanians ranked third among same-day visitors at 5,233, reflecting a 21.4% increase compared to 4,310 in June 2025. American same-day visitors numbered 2,026, dropping 26.0% compared to 2,739 in June 2025.
Meanwhile, the number of Jordanians departing the country for tourism purposes in May 2026 reached 127,851 individuals, a 7.5% increase compared to 118,957 during the same month last year.
Overall, the number of outbound Jordanian tourists in the first five months of this year was recorded at 563,001, down 13.1% compared to 647,516 in the same period of 2025.
