Dubai, UAE, 2 February 2026: In its debut participation at the 57th Cairo International Book Fair, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library drew significant attention from visitors by presenting a curated selection of its latest publications produced under its Publishing and Translation Arm. Launched alongside the second edition of the Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit 2025, the initiative aims to enrich Arabic content through the translation into Arabic.

The Institutional Publishing and Translation Arm represents a qualitative step toward reinforcing the Library’s role as an active institution in the production and dissemination of knowledge. It seeks to strengthen the Library’s presence on both the Arab and international cultural landscapes, and enrich Arabic content through translation from different languages into Arabic.

During the Cairo International Book Fair 2026, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library’s platform stood out as a hub for knowledge and cultural innovation. It presented a diverse collection of books reflecting its vision of empowering knowledge and promoting cultural exchange, attracting the interest of many visitors.

The publications showcased by the Library included:

  • Reflections: Understanding Our Use and Abuse of Water – Mark Zeitoun, translated by Prof. Abdullah Al-Omari (2025). The book explores humanity’s relationship with water resources and calls for rediscovering water and shaping a just and sustainable future.

Children’s Health and the Peril of Climate Change – Frederica Perera, translated by Rasha Salah Al-Dakhakhni (2025). The book offers a scientific analysis of the impact of air pollution and climate change on the health of future generations, coupled with an ethical call to protect their future.

  • The Dimming of Starlight: The Philosophy of Space Exploration – Gonzalo Munvar, translated by Mohammed Fathi Khedr (2025). The book highlights the scientific and moral necessity of space exploration and reshapes our understanding of Earth and other planets.
  • AI Narratives: A History of Imaginative Thinking about Intelligent Machines – edited by Stephen Cave, Kanta Dihal, and Sarah Dillon, translated by Bandar Al-Harbi (2025). The book traces the evolution of human imagination around “intelligent machines” from ancient times to contemporary issues such as automation and artificial immortality.
  • Why Good People Do Bad Environmental Things – Elizabeth R. DeSombre, translated by Atef Othman (2025). The book reveals the paradox of environmentally harmful behaviours despite awareness of their consequences, explaining that information alone may not be sufficient to change habits.
  • In the Circle of Ancient Trees: Our Oldest Trees and the Stories They Tell – Edward Graham, translated by Basma Al-Masbahi. The book portrays trees as living archives that preserve the memory of nature and the Earth’s transformations over centuries, showing how a single tree ring can reveal years of droughts or floods.
  • CLOUDS: How to Identify Nature’s Most Fleeting Forms – Edward Graham, translated by Prof. Abdullah Al-Omari (2026). The book connects meteorology with the art of drawing to understand clouds as living systems that reveal the laws of the atmosphere.
  • The Power of Culture in Shaping Society:The United Arab Emirates’ Experienc – a group of authors (2025). The book presents a documentary vision of the UAE’s experience in building a balanced cultural renaissance that blends authenticity and modernity, highlighting the role of institutions, education, and media in strengthening national identity.
  • Global (Graphic Novel) – Eoin Colfer and Andrew Donkin, illustrated by Giovanni Rigano (2026). The novel tells the story of two children whose lives are transformed by global warming and climate change, in Canada and the Bay of Bengal.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library’s pavilion witnessed a large turnout from visitors of various ages and cultural backgrounds, who explored the publications and engaged with cultural initiatives and intellectual discussions, including A World in Your Language initiative and a variety of dialogue programs. Through its participation in the exhibition, the Library strengthened its network of cultural and knowledge partnerships and connected with Arab and international publishers and institutions, opening new horizons for cooperation in knowledge dissemination and the promotion of reading.

This participation underscores the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library’s strategy to promote Arab culture, disseminate knowledge-based thought, and offer an integrated intellectual experience for readers and researchers. All publications and cultural initiatives can be followed through the Library’s official website.
