Jordanian Expatriates Remit $2.5 Billion in First Half of 2026

Total worker remittances entering the Kingdom rose by 13.3% during June 2026 to reach $434.1 million. During the first half of 2026, inward remittances totaled $2,496.2 million, reflecting a 14.3% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan.

Data for the first half of 2026 shows that remittances originating from the United Arab Emirates ranked first, accounting for 21.2% of total inward remittances to the Kingdom. The United States ranked second at 19.6%, followed by Saudi Arabia (17.7%), Qatar (10.3%), and Kuwait (5.5%), while other countries collectively represented 25.7% of total incoming transfers.

Conversely, outward worker remittances leaving the Kingdom increased by 17.7% in June 2026 compared to June 2025, reaching $162.6 million. During the first half of 2026, outward remittances totaled $969.3 million, marking a 15.5% increase.

Outward remittances sent to the Arab Republic of Egypt held the largest share, accounting for 41.5% of total outgoing transfers, followed by the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (11.8%), the Republic of the Philippines (4.8%), and the State of Palestine (4.0%), with other countries representing the remaining 37.9%.
