The value of banking facilities and loans extended to individuals increased by around JD 200 million during the second quarter of this year compared with the first quarter, and by approximately JD 353 million compared with the second quarter of 2025.
According to data from the Central Bank of Jordan, total banking facilities and loans extended to individuals reached JD 14.508 billion in the second quarter of 2026, compared with JD 14.312 billion in the first quarter and JD 14.156 billion in the second quarter of 2025.
The number of loans also rose slightly during the second quarter, reaching 1.658 million, compared with 1.655 million in the first quarter and 1.629 million in the second quarter of 2025.
By gender, male borrowers accounted for around 80% of total banking facilities during the second quarter, with loans valued at JD 11.592 billion, compared with JD 2.916 billion extended to female borrowers.
Geographically, Amman Governorate accounted for the largest share of total banking facilities and loans, with JD 30.548 billion out of a total JD 37.148 billion.
Meanwhile, Tafilah Governorate recorded the lowest value of banking facilities, at approximately JD 150 million during the second quarter.
