Dubai, UAE – December 24, 2025: Hotpack, the UAE-based global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, reaffirmed its commitment to environmental stewardship through a hands-on mangrove planting initiative at Al Zora Mangrove Reserve in Ajman, reflecting the company’s ongoing mission to give back to society while protecting natural resources and advancing its long-term sustainability agenda.

In collaboration with Companies for Good, a Dubai-based social enterprise that enables impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes, Hotpack organised the environmental activity under Hotpack Happiness employee engagement programme aimed to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Bringing together Hotpack employees from across the UAE, the activity showcased how the company’s commitment to employee wellbeing and corporate responsibility can come together to lead meaningful ecological impact causes.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Abdul Jebbar, Group CEO and Managing Director at Hotpack remarked, “At Hotpack, sustainability isn’t just a principle, it’s something we live by. That’s why we wanted to take this hands-on step and organise a mangrove planting initiative, aligned with the UAE’s long-term vision for mangrove conservation, a journey initiated by the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. We also planned this initiative, in line with the pledge made by Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Head of International Affairs Office at the Presidential Court of the UAE, at the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference, took place in UK in 2021 to plant 100 million mangroves by 2030.”

Mr

Zainudeen PB, Group COO and Executive Director, Hotpack said, “We are proud to contribute to this national mission and look forward to making mangrove conservation an annual hallmark of our CSR efforts. This initiative demonstrates the power of collective action. Our employees take great pride in being part of a sustainability journey that extends beyond the workplace. Through initiatives like these, we not only protect the environment but also nurture a stronger sense of purpose and shared responsibility within the Hotpack family”.

Mr. Anwar PB, Group CTO and Executive Director, Hotpack, said, “The mangrove plantation activity offered an educational and inspiring experience for all participants. Volunteers received safety briefings and protective gear before setting out via kayaks and dragon boats to reach designated planting sites. Working directly within the waterlogged terrain, participants planted mangrove saplings, engaging first-hand with the challenging conditions where these critical ecosystems thrive.

This mangrove planting marks the first phase of what Hotpack envisions as an annual environmental initiative, reflecting the company’s long-term commitment to sustainability and its dedication to giving back to the community while preserving the natural environment.

Mangroves, known for their ecological importance, act as natural carbon sinks, absorbing carbon dioxide at rates higher than many tropical forests. They also stabilise coastal soil and prevent erosion. In the UAE, mangroves cover more than 150 square kilometers along the coastline, serving as a natural green lung for cities including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ajman. Each mature mangrove tree can absorb approximately 12.3 kilograms of CO₂ annually, highlighting how every sapling planted contributes meaningfully to mitigating climate change.

At the heart of Hotpack’s philosophy lies a deep belief in giving back to society while safeguarding natural resources. This initiative is a testament to that belief, turning sustainability commitments into measurable, lasting impact.
