Energy Authority Chief Checks Power Grid Readiness

Updated:

Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission Ziad Al-Saaydeh inspected the operations center and SCADA control room at the Electricity Distribution Company on Sunday morning, in the presence of the company’s Director General, Engineer Reem Hamdan.

The visit aimed to assess the readiness of the electricity grid and the measures in place to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Al-Saaydeh stressed the importance of coordinated efforts between the commission and sector companies, directing the commission’s teams to continue regulatory and field monitoring through the Monitoring and Emergency Center and strengthen round-the-clock coordination with partners.

He said these efforts are aimed at supporting the readiness of the energy system, ensuring reliable electricity supplies and maintaining the continuity of services for citizens across the Kingdom.

The visit follows the commission’s announcement on Saturday that it had raised the readiness level of the energy sector and would continue monitoring preparations in coordination and cooperation with the relevant authorities to ensure a sustainable power supply.
