Oil prices rose on Tuesday, driven by renewed market concerns regarding the potential for a prolonged crisis surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, stemming from divergent demands between Iran and the United States.
The price of a barrel of Brent crude (North Sea) for October delivery rose by 2.46% to reach $89.88, after briefly touching the $90.02 mark.
Similarly, its US counterpart, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for September delivery, climbed 2.67% to reach $84.32 per barrel.
