Jordan Investor Confidence Rises 21.9% in Q2 2026

Jordan’s Investor Confidence Index, issued by the Jordan Strategy Forum, rose by 21.9% in the second quarter of 2026 to 186.6 points, compared with 153.1 points in the first quarter of the year.

The Economic Activity Confidence Index increased by 74.3% during the second quarter, reaching 200 points, up from 114.7 points in the first quarter. This marked the highest quarterly level recorded over the past three years.

Real GDP growth stood at 3% in the second quarter of 2026, compared with 2.8% in the same quarter of 2025 and 2.9% in the first quarter of 2026.

The general budget deficit after grants stood at around JD 557 million in the second quarter of 2026, down from JD 722 million in the first quarter.

Foreign direct investment inflows reached approximately JD 458 million in the second quarter, marking the second-highest quarterly level recorded over the past three years.

The interest rate differential between the Jordanian dinar and the US dollar stood at 2.0 percentage points during the second quarter of 2026.

The Amman Stock Exchange index rose by 305 points to reach 7,517 points in the second quarter, compared with 7,212 points in the first quarter.

According to the Jordan Strategy Forum, the index reflects continued efforts to boost investment in the Kingdom and improve the business environment, contributing to higher living standards for Jordanian citizens.
