The Russian Central Bank announced on Friday a reduction in the official exchange rate of the ruble against major international currencies. The U.S. dollar rose by around 8 kopeks to approximately 84 rubles, according to the newly set official exchange rates.
In a press statement, the Russian central bank said the euro exchange rate reached around 98 rubles after rising by approximately 11 kopeks. The Chinese yuan also increased by about 2 kopeks to nearly 13 rubles, based on the new official exchange rates.
