Remittances sent by Jordanians working abroad rose by 14.1% during the first seven months of 2026, reaching approximately $2.97 billion, according to preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan.
The data showed that remittances increased by 13.1% in July, reaching $470.2 million.
The United Arab Emirates accounted for the largest share of incoming remittances during the first seven months of the year at 20.9%, followed by the United States at 19.3%, Saudi Arabia at 17.7%, Qatar at 10.5%, and Kuwait at 5.5%. Remittances from other countries accounted for 26.1%.
Meanwhile, remittances sent from Jordan by non-Jordanian workers increased by 14.4% during the first seven months of 2026, reaching $1.14 billion. In July alone, these transfers rose by 8.5% to $167.9 million.
Egypt was the largest recipient of outgoing remittances, accounting for 42.1%, followed by Bangladesh at 11.8%, the Philippines at 4.8%, and Yemen at 3.9%.
