The Dow Jones Industrial Average, the largest of the major U.S. stock indexes, fell 628 points on Tuesday to 52,786, a decline of 1.18%.
The Nasdaq Composite also fell 85 points to 26,421, down 0.32%.
The S&P 500 declined by about 45 points, closing at 7,673, a drop of 0.58%.
Meanwhile, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil rose by nearly $2 to reach $93.65 per barrel.
