Russia’s international reserves increased by 6.8% in August, reaching approximately $769 billion, the country’s central bank said on Tuesday.
The increase amounted to about $49 billion compared with the level recorded at the end of July.
In a statement, the Central Bank of Russia said international reserves comprise foreign assets and gold held by the central bank and the Russian government. They are considered one of the key indicators of the strength of the country’s external financial position.
