Jordan’s telecom sector recorded the highest growth in credit inquiries during the first half of 2026, rising by 262%, according to data from credit information company CRIF Jordan.
The data showed a significant increase in credit inquiries and reports during the first half of the year compared with the same period in 2025, with notable growth across several sectors, particularly telecommunications and financial leasing.
Banks recorded 776,363 credit inquiries during the first half of 2026, an increase of 18% compared with the same period last year.
Credit inquiries by microfinance companies also increased by 9% to 224,289, while financial leasing companies recorded a notable 91% increase, with inquiries reaching 12,245.
In contrast, inquiries by non-bank financial companies declined by 30% to 95,536.
The telecommunications sector recorded the highest growth rate, with inquiries increasing by 262% to approximately 19,943 during the first half of this year.
Growth in Reports, Records and Contracts
CRIF Jordan’s data also showed a 12% increase in the number of reports issued, reaching approximately 1.215 million during the first half of 2026.
The number of individual and corporate records rose by 7% to around 3.1 million, while the number of contracts increased by 11% to approximately 12.5 million.
The number of data-providing entities also grew by 8%, reaching 71.
Digital Services Expand
The number of individual credit reports issued through banking applications increased by 47%, reaching 33,572 reports during the first half of 2026.
Meanwhile, the number of corporate digital reports issued through banking applications stood at 286.
Reports issued through the “Individuals’ Credit” service on the Sanad application totaled around 34,000, down 12% compared with the first half of 2025.
In contrast, the “Individual Credit Risk Score” service through the Sanad application recorded a sharp 579% increase, with the number of reports reaching approximately 14,849.
