The Zarqa Chamber of Commerce discussed on Monday with the Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Sri Lanka in Jordan, Consul Jajithra Navan, ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between Jordan and Sri Lanka, and expand partnership and investment domains to serve the private sectors in both countries.
During his reception of Consul Navan at the Chamber’s headquarters, the President of the Zarqa Chamber of Commerce, Hussein Shreim, emphasized the importance of elevating Jordanian-Sri Lankan economic relations and strengthening cooperation between the business communities. He noted that such efforts contribute to increasing trade volume, stimulating investment partnerships, organizing trade delegations and missions, and holding joint economic meetings that open new horizons for bilateral cooperation.
For her part, Navan affirmed the Sri Lankan Embassy’s keenness to deepen cooperation with the Zarqa Chamber of Commerce, expressing readiness to provide various forms of support and facilities to enhance trade and investment ties and foster effective communication between business owners and investors.
Navan invited the Zarqa Chamber of Commerce to participate in a trade exhibition that Sri Lanka plans to organize next year. This event will allow Jordanian business owners—particularly merchants from Zarqa Governorate—to explore promising trade and investment opportunities and build qualitative economic partnerships that expand bilateral cooperation.
Both sides agreed to maintain coordination, strengthen cooperation, and work toward implementing joint economic initiatives that boost trade and investment exchange while consolidating economic relations between Jordan and Sri Lanka to serve private sector interests and support economic development in both countries.
