Jordan’s Minister of Investment, Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, officially opened Thursday’s trading session at the London Stock Exchange by ringing the market’s opening bell, marking the launch of “Jordan Day.” The event highlights Jordan’s investment climate and competitive advantages while presenting investment opportunities to major international financial institutions and investors.
Hosted by the London Stock Exchange, the event brought together leading representatives of global financial institutions, investment fund managers, British and international companies, and business leaders to discuss prospects for economic and investment cooperation.
Participants also reviewed recent developments in Jordan’s investment environment and explored opportunities in the Kingdom’s priority sectors.
Speaking at the event, in the presence of Jordan’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Manar Dabbas, and a delegation of Jordanian business leaders, Abu Ghazaleh said that holding “Jordan Day” at the London Stock Exchange reflects the depth of the economic relationship between Jordan and the United Kingdom.
He described the event as an important platform for showcasing the Kingdom’s investment opportunities and strengthening engagement with the global investment community.
He noted that Jordan’s strategic geographic location, extensive network of trade agreements, political and economic stability, and competitive investment environment make the Kingdom a strategic gateway to regional markets, providing investors with an ideal base for expanding across the region.
Abu Ghazaleh added that Jordan continues to improve its investment environment by modernizing legislation, simplifying procedures, enhancing the competitiveness of the business climate, and providing incentives for high-value-added projects, all in line with the objectives of the Economic Modernization Vision.
He also emphasized that Jordan’s economy has demonstrated resilience and maintained stability despite regional challenges, supported by balanced economic policies.
According to Abu Ghazaleh, this has strengthened investor confidence and reinforced the Kingdom’s position as a trusted destination for long-term investment.
