768 Million Dinars: Amman Chamber of Commerce Exports in the First Half of This Year

Updated:

The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) to export goods and commodities to Arab and foreign countries rose by 25.2% in the first half of this year, compared to the same period last year.

According to statistical data from the Chamber, ACC exports through the certificates of origin it issued in the first half of this year reached approximately 768 million dinars, compared to 613 million dinars for the same period in 2025.

The number of certificates of origin issued by the ACC in the first half of this year stood at 20,548 certificates, compared to 18,354 certificates for the same period last year, marking a 12% increase.

The statistical data highlighted the top importing countries by value, led by Iraq with a value of around 323 million dinars spanning 1,343 certificates, followed by Switzerland at 92 million dinars across 23 certificates. The United Arab Emirates came next with a value of about 57 million dinars spanning 4,917 certificates, then Saudi Arabia at 43 million dinars across 3,370 certificates, followed by Egypt at 40 million dinars spanning 406 certificates.

Exports in the first half of this year included foreign products (goods of foreign origin) valued at around 361 million dinars, followed by agricultural products at 103 million dinars, industrial products at 99 million dinars, and Arab products (goods of Arab origin) at about 79 million dinars, among others.

A “certificate of origin” is a document used in international trade to certify that the goods in a particular shipment have been produced, manufactured, or processed in a specific country. It is used by customs authorities to determine the eligibility of goods for specific tariffs and to verify their country of origin.

It is worth noting that the Amman Chamber of Commerce issues certificates of origin for Jordanian agricultural, animal, and raw natural resource products, foreign goods being re-exported, and foreign goods purchased from the local market under specific conditions.

It also issues certificates of origin for Jordanian industrial products upon the exporter’s request, based on the original factory invoice certified by a chamber of industry, and a properly certified original certificate of origin issued by a chamber of industry proving the goods are of Jordanian origin. This is done in accordance with Article 29 of the Jordanian Chambers of Commerce Regulation No. 45 of 2009 and the Instructions for Issuing Certificates of Origin for the year 2013. — Petra
