Major US stock indices fell on Friday, retreating from slight and volatile gains recorded earlier.
At the close of trading on Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 107 points, or 0.20%, to reach 53,732 points.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite index declined 73 points, or 0.28%, to settle at 26,729 points.
Similarly, the S&P 500 index dipped around 13 points, or 0.17%, to close at 7,785 points.
Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil rose by $1 to reach $82.41 per barrel.
